Knitting update – a month late

So this is the sock update – all this happened a month ago. Okay, remember this – okay scroll to the bottom of the post? I was well on my way to finishing a sock. This is great cotton sock yarn. It is elastic with the thread woven onto it. I thought it will make a great summer sock. So I cast on. But not ever knitting with this kind of stretchy yarn, I was unsure of the tension. So I did my gauge and it is knit on 3 DPNs so I thought it would go fast. And away I went. Then I tried it on, and the fabric was loose and holey. So this was the sock –

and 5 minutes later this was the sock.

I have since cast on and almost finished it. This time with adequate tension. I will post a picture soon. But I am falling into the one sock whole again. I got that terrific vintage sock book from my SP CraftyGrrl.ca last go around and I am itching to start something from there. But this sock wille be lonely. What is a girl to do?
