Well, I have been on vacation this week. I spent the first 3 days in New York City. Every time I go there, I realize why I miss it. There is something comforting about being around so many people. And it was great to see my friends.
It was also my birthday, and I had a great dinner with my friends at Bagatelle. This place is a restaurant that basically turns into a night club as the meals are being served. We danced until after midnight. And had our dinner paid for my the Italian men at the table next to us. We didn’t head to their “private” after party. We didn’t ask for their generosity and felt we owed them nothing.
So I decided to have a staycation for the rest of the week. And I decided to kick start myself into physical activity. For the last 2 years and a few months I have religiously worked out twice a week – once with a trainer and once doing pilates. But I have lately been feeling overweight, and like my whole body is is tight and wound up. So this week I decided to jump start my cardio and get back to Bikram yoga.
When I was in St. Louis, I went to Bikram at least 3 days a week. I love the regimen, and the heat. I never thought I would enjoy so much heat. But when I moved to NYC, I never found the time for Bikram. There is a study here that has recently opened and I still haven’t found the time to fit it into my schedule. So I am going to try and commit to more.
And tonight, I went to my first ever spin class. I sweat my butt off, and my quads are killing me. But I enjoyed it.
I have been trying to eat better. I am going to start posting more food pics, but I haven’t taken any today. One of my changes is going to be committing to doing this – blogging – more often. Thanks to all who are still reading.
