I am a thirty-something physician who works more hours than she would like to admit. I am trying to commit to better work life balance. So I am going to document the balance part of things here on this blog.

My life has been filled with working. Started school at age 4, always studying through high school. Of course, I was a well rounded student, but the studies came first. Then it was off to Davidson College, where again the books came first. After that, medical school, then residency with 80-100 hour work weeks. Finally fellowship and then to my first job where I was working a lot of hours again. Two years ago I moved to Baltimore in hopes that it would be easier. And yet I have continued to fill my life with work. So this is my effort to document my journey into balance.

So, here we go.
